About Us

McGill Students for China Care is an independent, student run club at McGill University, and a recognized China Care Club under the China Care Foundation, Inc. We started as a SSMU club in 2004 by Priya Kumar and Kim Scarrow after media coverage of the charitable organization struck a chord with Priya. The following summer Priya went to China to volunteer with China Care Foundation. Since then, the club has maintained a dedicated albeit modest group of members. Many of our members have subsequently gone to China to volunteer with China Care Foundation.

In past years, McGill Students for China Care has made enormous progress. Members grew along with the number of dedicated volunteers. McGill Students for China Care organized the Second-Hand Clothing Sale that won the “Fundraising Award of the Year” given by SSMU in 2005. Although China Care’s history at McGill is short, we hope for it to have many years of success to come.
