This is a little girl born in southwestern China with a congenital heart defect. She liked to play with toys, and would be careful to guard her favorites so that other children couldn’t steal them. Sometimes in the mornings, she liked to use a handkerchief and play peek-a-boo with her nanny. She was interested in picture books, and whenever her nanny would read a picture book with her, she would excitedly point to her favorite illustrations. Her surgery to correct the heart defect was successful and she has now returned home. |
